Urgent Private Key decision:
Due to the urgency in awarding these contract extensions, it is impracticable to comply with the requirement to give 28 notice of this private item of business which is also a key decision. For the purposes of complying with Regulations 5(6) and 11(1) of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements)(Meetings and Access to Information)(England) Regulations 2012, agreement was obtained from the Chairman of the People Select Committee on 9 September 2014 that the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred and therefore the report may be considered by the Cabinet at its 1 October 2014 meeting.

Purpose of the report
This report seeks approval to award contract extensions to South Tyneside NHS Foundation Trust to provide Sexual Health Services and School Nursing Services.
Documents to be submitted to the decision maker
A detailed report which will contain exempt information, so will not be made available to the public and such other documents as may be relevant to the decision as are required.
Will the meeting be open to the public or private, and if private for what reason(s)
Private - the press and public will be excluded from the meeting because the meeting will be considering a report that contains exempt information, as detailed below.
The meeting is to be taken in private because:
- The report will contain "exempt" information which falls within paragraph 3 of part 1 of the schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 ("Information relating to the financial or business affairs of a person including the Council)"
and
The report contains information about the business and financial affairs of the Council and their selected delivery partner. The commercial sensitivity of the information is such that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
