Step into the roaring 20s and enjoy an evening of entertainment in South Tyneside to help raise money for good causes.

The Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Norman Dick, is inviting people to swing down to the annual Civic Ball, which is taking place on Saturday 25 April, from 7pm until late, at Temple Park Centre, John Reid Road, South Shields.

This year's event takes on a 'The Great Gatsby' theme. Tickets cost £40 each which includes a fizz reception, three course meal with wine, fantastic entertainment and plenty of exciting surprises.

Fundraising activities will also take place on the evening with proceeds going towards the Mayor's Charity, which this year includes South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade and NAAFI Break South Tyneside.

The Mayor said: "The Mayoress and I are really looking forward to the Civic Ball this year with its Great Gatsby theme. It is sure to be a fantastic night and we would love the people of South Tyneside to join us for an evening of entertainment and great food.

"Guests will be able to enjoy a delicious evening meal, followed by fantastic music and a disco. This is a great opportunity to get all dressed up, have a wonderful evening with your friends, colleagues or family whilst helping to support the Mayor's Charity fund."
