This course provides delegates with a greater awareness of causes of workplace fires, preventative and protective measures as well as the necessity of evacuation procedures.

The session will cover:

• Basic Principles of Combustion
• Common Causes of Fire
• Principles of Fire Prevention
• Selection and Use of Fire Extinguishers
• Action on discovering a Fire/Evacuation Drills
• Fire Risk Assessment
• Checking of Emergency Equipment and Fire Exits

Expected Impact on Schools:

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

• state their fire safety duties under the law
• recognise the importance of effective evacuation
• state how to prevent fire and limit fire spread
• identify the requirements of an effective fire action plan
