The achievements of the South Tyneside Armed Forces Forum will be discussed at a community meeting next week.

The South Tyneside Armed Forces Forum works with partners to help improve services which impact on the health and wellbeing of the Armed Forces community.

Members of the Riverside Community Area Forum (CAF) will hear about what the South Tyneside Armed Forces Forum has achieved since signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2011.

Councillors will also be told about the forum's plans for the future, setting out the goals in which they hope to achieve by 2024.

Chair of the CAF, Councillor Lynne Proudlock, said: "It is extremely important that ex-servicemen and women, serving officers and their families get the help and support they need.

"The South Tyneside Armed Forces Forum does tremendous work to provide members of the Armed Forces community access to help and support from statutory providers and from the charitable and voluntary sector.

"I am looking forward to hearing about what the forum has achieved and what is planned for the future."

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 28 January at 10am in the Council Chamber, South Shields Town Hall. Members of the public and press are both welcome.
