Content:

This course is delivered over two days and covers two units which includes practical and written assessments from the taught content.  It is physical in nature and interactive.  All candidates must be ready to join in and able to stand, kneel, lean over and perform tasks, which include casualty handling and CPR as part of an assessment process.

The assessment criteria is set out by the UK Resuscitation Council.  If any person has difficulty in doing these, then reasonable adjustments can be made during the training element, but some of the skills must be seen preformed in a kneeling or sitting position on the floor during assessment.  Unfortunately, no adjustments can be made for practical assessment.

Due to the nature of the course please wear appropriate clothing.

The qualification is available to learners aged 16 and over.

Please bring with you your workplace ID.

Once successfully completed this qualification is valid for three years.  Competency must be displayed on both child and infant.  To requalify learners will need to complete the full 12-hour course again.

It fulfils all requirements for providing Paediatric First Aid including meeting the statutory requirements for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
