Support groups or appointments that take place at Whitburn or Hebburn Forum will stay the same.
Support available
The new service will provide:
- Caring communities
Connecting carers in our community, helping to create support groups with like-minded people and support through individual and group sessions with staff, trained volunteers, and other carers. - Empowerment and support
Recognising each person's individual needs and help explore support options, opportunities for personal growth, and avenues for a life outside of caring, including opportunities for carers to enjoy time out, breaks, and social activities. - Connections to services
Helping to find solutions that best serve carers needs, connecting to relevant services such as health and social care, housing, advocacy, and counselling. - Awareness and advocacy
Raising awareness of carers' issues and rights within the community and work with local organisations and businesses to develop new or improve existing support and employment opportunities for carers.
Who can access the service
All carers from the age of 18 can access the service.
