Course aims
- To raise awareness of the issues affecting the children of problem substance users
- To provide participants with the knowledge needed to understand parental substance misuse
- To provide participants with the knowledge to recognise the warning signs and potential impact on a child/young person's life
Course learning outcomes
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Understand values and attitudes regarding substance misuse
- Demonstrate knowledge of specific substances and their effects on the body
- Recognise the needs of children and young people whose parents misuse substances
