Course aims
- To raise awareness and understanding of the procedure when allegations are made against staff, carers or volunteers who work with children, young people and adults in South Tyneside
- To understand the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
Course learning outcomes
By the end of the session participants will:
- Be able to follow the correct procedures and have an understanding of the complex processes involved in addressing allegations against staff, carers and volunteers
- Be able to assist agencies to identify the appropriate responses within their own agencies
- Have an awareness of safe recruitment, vetting and referral procedures
- Be able to maximise opportunities to hear the child's voice
- Have an understanding of the role of the LADO
