NECA Community Garden aims to bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities. They provide a safe accessible place, regardless of age, ethnicity or level of ability, for people to come together, learn new skills, enjoy physical activity in a natural environment and positively impact their health and wellbeing.
Support available
Spanning 15 allotments the Community Garden houses a mix of plots including:
- planting beds (flowers / fruit / vegetables)
- poly tunnels
- wood workshops
- event areas
- play areas
- wildlife areas (chickens, frogs / newts)
The service:
- provides versatile learning opportunities
- promotes social inclusion
- hosts community events
- grows / provides fresh produce
- creates woodwork materials
- unites communities in a safe / welcoming environment
They also offer gardening groups, woodwork groups, 1-1 workshops, family groups / fun days, community open days, preschool groups, volunteering / placements.
