Overview

Kids And Young Adults Klub (KAYAKS) is a support group for families affected by disability and special educational needs.

The group supports many families affected by Autism, ADHD and other Autistic spectrum conditions.

Support available

The group gives children and young people a safe space to play, socialise and have fun.

For parents and carers, they advise, inform, advocate for, sign-post and represent members in tribunals, schools or other settings.

Children are encouraged to bring along siblings, friends and other key supporters so they feel comfortable..

Visits are available by appointment to the offices at Trinity House Social Centre, to discuss subjects that they would not be comfortable sharing in public.

They guide families through the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process and have had many successes in appeals at Tribunals or at panel.

They offer referrals to a counselling service without the usual waiting lists.
