Housing Benefit fraud costs the people of South Tyneside thousands of pounds every year.
If you think someone is receiving Housing Benefit they are not entitled to please report it.
Knowingly claiming benefit that you are not entitled to is a crime.
You can report suspected Housing Benefit fraud in three ways;
By Telephone:
Contact the National Benefit Fraud Hotline on 0800 854 440. Your call is free and confidential you do not have to give your name or address. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm.
If you have speech or hearing problems you can use a text phone service on 0800 328 0512 or Welsh speakers can call on 0800 678 3722.

Council Tax Support
If you think someone is not claiming Housing Benefit but does receive Council Tax Support you can report this to the council by ringing 0800 0932650, sending an email to benefits@southtyneside.gov.uk or via the online form.
