The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. They make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and encourages care services to improve.
The CQC ensure government standards in: hospitals; care homes; homecare; GP practices; dentists; clinics; community services; and mental health services.
Support available
- Complete announced and unannounced inspections of services on a regular basis and at any time in response to concerns
- Issue warning notices requiring improvements within a short period of time
- Ensure improvements are made
- Suspend or cancel a care service's registration
