Ways to make a payment

Use our automated payment phone line

Use our automated Telephone Payment System on 0300 456 0501. 

This service can be used to pay for:

  • Council Tax
  • Housing benefit overpayments
  • Invoices
  • Business rates
  • South Tyneside Homes rent payments

You will need to pay by debit card, and will need your card details and payment reference number to be able to make a payment.

Or, call our Customer Contact Centre on 0191 427 7000. You can pay for Council Tax, benefit overpayments and more over the phone Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm. You will also need to pay by debit card.
